IMMLY and Cherylheart returned to
Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. April 23-25, 2001, after attending the
NORML Conference.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), who spoke
at the conference, introduced the bipartisan HR
2592. States' Rights to Medical Marijuana Act
into the House earlier in 2001. Read the text of the bill here. Invite your Congressman to support HR
2592. Our
plan was not only to visit the offices of our respective state's
congressional delegations, (Wisconsin & New Jersey) and put a
patient's face to the issue of medicinal cannabis, but also to try to
gain support and additional co-sponsors for HR 1344, which was replaced
by HR 2592 later in 2001. More
