IMMLY goes to Capitol Hill - April
2001
IMMLY followed up the NORML
Conference with 2 and 1/2 days of visits to the offices of Wisconsin's
current nine-member congressional delegation along with the offices of
both U.S. Senators, plus a visit to the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human
Services (HHS)..
The purpose was not just to put a
face to patients who can benefit from the medicinal use of cannabis, but
also to update representatives on the situation in Wisconsin and Jacki's
testimony at the Informational
Hearing on April 10, 2001. We also wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to
Rep. Tammy Baldwin, (D-WI), for co-sponsoring the bipartisan Rep. Barney
Frank/Ron Paul states
rights medical marijuana bill HR 2592, and ask
Wisconsin's other congressional representatives to join Rep. Baldwin in
co-sponsoring this important legislation. Invite your Congressman to support HR
2592.
