Mondovi's Jacki Rickert is due in town Tuesday to help deliver results of a statewide poll on medical marijuana to state legislators. The poll was done by Madison's Chamberlain Research Consultants. While the results have not yet been revealed, word is Wisconsin residents are overwhelmingly supportive of making marijuana available for medical patients. Rickert smokes pot for the serious bone and muscle illnesses that have her in a wheelchair and constantly struggling to keep her weight above 90 pounds. In 2000 the police raided her home, though no charges were filed in the case. She makes a poignant spokesperson - and in fact was once eligible for medical marijuana under a federal program overturned by George Bush the first. ...
