June 7, 2004: Remembering Cheryl Miller

Friends,

A year ago today, on June 7, 2003, IMMLY lost a very dear friend, Cheryl Miller. She was a wife, a friend, a sister, but she was a leading advocate, there to stand with IMMLY at any time, as IMMLY was to stand with her and Jim at any time.

There should be a picture of Cheryl in the dictionary next to the definitions of bravery, kindness and inner strength.

The four people that made up the Commando Squad were on a mission to go to Capitol Hill to do whatever we could do to make our medicine legal (Is My Medicine Legal YET?), whatever humanly possible, from 1997 until she left this earth a year ago today. Sadly, Cheryl did not live to see that day, but we will continue to fight the fight until our medicine IS LEGAL or we join Cheryl in the next world. We have lost too many brothers and sisters, most of who fought until their last breath.

But Cheryl will never leave our hearts, our focus; she will always be our beacon of strength. I hope that I can maybe accomplish even a small portion of what Cheryl accomplished during her time with us. Because she could do what no one else could accomplish.

With Cheryl's passing the Commando Squad is reduced to three surviving members.

Her strength and wisdom continue to guide us and always will.

To Cheryl, we can do "girl talk" anytime. That was one of the highlights we shared every time we got together. I cherished it. I got to see a side of Cheryl that few people other than her husband got to experience. I thank God she graced my life.

Keep Cheryl's heart alive

"Loved ones may pass on, but never pass away, as long as they remain in our hearts".

They are not just words that go with a pin, never forget.

WE LOVE YOU CHERYL!!!
