The 3 surviving members of
the Commando
Squad, Jacki Rickert, Gary Storck and Jim Miller will be reuniting
for the 36th
Annual Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival in Madison
Wisconsin, October 6, 7 & 8, 2006.
But the reunion will not
end when Harvest Fest concludes Sunday evening. With the November 7
General Election rapidly approaching, the Commando Squad plans to take
to the roads of Wisconsin to get candidates on record as to their
position on medical cannabis legalization.
The trio will also be
asking voters to pledge not to vote for any candidate who opposes
medical marijuana or refuses to state their position. With the failure
of the medical marijuana legislation that Jim Miller helped to inspire
with his and Gary Storck's visit to Rep. Gregg Underheim's office the
Monday after Harvest Fest 2003, things have come full circle. Most
members of the Assembly Health Committee the bill died in, as well as
most state lawmakers in general, have been able to evade taking a
position on this critical health care issue. Many have made it through
multiple campaigns without ever being asked. This is unacceptable in a
state where the people overwhelmingly support medical marijuana. This
year, the Commando Squad intends to change that with the Medical
Cannabis Truth Tour.
