| The 5th Annual IMMLY Medical Cannabis Benefit
was held on Friday, Oct. 5th, 2007, from 5-8 pm at the Cardinal Bar in downtown Madison.
The benefit was again hosted by Madison NORML on behalf of IMMLY.
IMMLY's Jacki Rickert and Gary
Storck spoke at this Harvest Fest kickoff event. Entertainment was by 'Jim O'Hern and The Whiskey River Band' featuring Mark Shanahan on
guitar.. Mark's band opened and then morphed into the Whiskey River Band, featuring
Jim O'Hern. Jim brought more than a bit of Willie Nelson to the benefit
with his tribute songs performed with the band.
Attendance was up and the event raised
several hundred dollars for supporting medical cannabis in WI, including
the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act. And, we got to hear a "Wille"
version of our traditional annual sing along of "Legal Medicine Blues".
