IMMLY's Medical Cannabis Benefit returns to the 43rd Annual Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival. Kick off Harvest Fest weekend and support medical cannabis in Wisconsin with hot blues and reggae music and updates on medical cannabis in Wisconsin from members of IMMLY and other activists.
Small Blind Johnny reunites for some sizzling blues to start off the show.
SBJ is led by Madison blues guitarist Mark Shanahan, a longtime supporter of IMMLY whose bands have been a staple of IMMLY events dating back over a decade.
The headliner will be the international reggae artist Kwame Bediako from Ghana, Africa. Kwame Bediako, the man dubbed "The Afrikan Roots Ambassador" participated in the IYPAD tour (2012 UN International Year for People of Afrikan Descent) with dates including St. Maarten, Chicago, Belize, and Ghana, with his most recent appearance at the 274th Annual Accompong Maroon Freedom Festival in Jamaica where he performed and presented the ancestral libation ceremony to the UN delegation attending from Ghana. Always in the studio recording and perfecting his music, Kwame is hard at work on a new collection of songs and reissues due for release this year. His music has been compared to Bob Marley and Burning Spear and keeps a traditional roots reggae vibe with modern sensibilities.
